Are boots ok? I wear wetgear and boots for my cycling commute. I suppose it’s ok since you can’t see my workwear underneath in any event.

Gimps wearing clunky Asics or New Balance trainers, or even worse “trendy” Converse, with a suit deserve to be beaten.

Why mate? Can’t they change into appropriate office footwear on entry? Guys like @Rocko are wearing out their work shoes faster than they can buy them. It must be a nightmare for them.

@TheUlteriorMotive after my horrible, horrible experience this morning that I just logged in the weather thread, I went and had a look at some Macs at lunchtime. Spotted a nice black one for 250 quid. What is your opinion of Macs and is that a reasonable price for one. I would appreciate a prompt response as I will be looking to buy at lunchtime tomorrow.

Unless you are continental or very fashion forward like @Tassotti you will make a haims of wearing a Mac. Even the belt will confuse you - tied or untied. The stutterheim is a similar price and a far better option. It’s simplicity is its beauty

Yeah doesn’t look bad. The customer service in the M & S mens clothes section in Grafton street is appalling though. I might chance it tomorrow seen as it’s just around the corner from the other place.
