Worried about punishment cheesers or wedgies? TFK would lead you to believe that nordies are very backward
I think music was as much about identity as it was about music. Kids now seem to be a bit more open minded about music and plenty more besides.
Nordies backward? If you take the religious fundamentalists out of the equation I wouldn’t see any difference. Even the fundamentalism is mostly for show…they’re mental but they ain’t fun
Religion is generally all for show, the holier than thou mentality while excusing horrendous abuse.
The truly religious are generally the most humble, there’s a lovely tradition of it in rural Ireland but it’s dying out. I’m pretty sure its origins are not Christian.
Don’t leave us hanging!!!

Pantheism is the only religion that stands up to scrutiny, reverence for the divine in nature which requires no dogma.
Methody prep would have had yis for breakfast

The Dan Band - Total Eclipse of the Heart
A brilliant record
Any of ye remember the excellent RTE series The Session?
Phillip Donnelly, the Clontarf Cowboy - Tequila is Addictive
One of the absolutely greatest songs of the 80’s.
Shipbuilding- Elvis Costello
Always preferred him singing it to the more popularly recognised Robert Wyatt version
