Friend of the Forum: Big Mick McCarthy

Four straight wins for us.

Solid 2-0 home win against Brentford today to keep up our perfect record.

Well done Mick.

First time since 74

To think those clowns in Ipswich were calling for his head last year. They don’t deserve him

I am thrilled for Mick . A decent man .

Listened to this a few week back. McCarthy is very likable. Hope he manages Ireland again in the future.

Fine win over the mighty Leeds United at Portman Road today.

Just four points off the play-off positions now.

However, Big Mick’s work at Ipswich is done. He’s left them in a considerably better footing than he found them in. Now it’s up to somebody else to come in and carry on that good work.

Because it’s time for him to come home.

He is out of contract at the end of the season I believe. The stars are aligning

I’d be happy for John Delaney to advance a moderate compensation payment to ITFC to secure Mick’s services before then.

The Tractor Boys would be in capable hands under Terry Connor.

Big Mick is a man of tremendous honour though and I couldn’t see him walking out on Ipswich while under contract under any circumstances

That’s a good point, but there is no higher managerial calling than to manage one’s country.

I’m sure something will be sorted out one way or the other to the satisfaction of all parties.

Has the Yorkshire job come up?

Classic comic timing from Mick. It’s all about the timing.

Getting run out of Ipswich at the end of the season.
