Give it a rest you twerp
Sorry for your loss @LionelRitchie
Apparently they donāt burn each one individually anyway. You donāt see the flames turn on and him embarking towards them like.you would in the movies.
What ashes you do get could apparently be a combination of customers over a few days.
And shur what harm, tis only symbolic at that stage
We got our little fella cremated. If we had buried him, we would never have the option of leaving Dublin. We have him in our living room. The two girls are very curious about whats in the bear shaped urn.
We originally were going to have him in the angels plot in glasnevin. It was a rushed decision when we almost lost him and made under enourmous stress. The thoughts of him there alone on a rotten winterās evening would be very upsetting to us.
Wtf?
Iām with ye on that line of thinking pal
Itās the way Iām going anyway.
Itās great that heās always physically there with ye.
Happy Christmas to all the Fenways me aul flower.
@Atticus_Finch was cremated out there and had his ashes scattered in Ballybunnion and on the pitch in the Gaelic Grounds
Yeah, think thereās a nicer ending where a loved one can scatter a bit of you in places you both shared or you held important. Could see how it could help with the grieving process
Ceremony finished off yday with Bob Marley 3 Birds playing which found a nicer finish than the usual sombre church finish. Two lads in their late 60s/early 70s in front of me who were his pals from school days could be heard singing it lowly which i thought nice.
Each to their own but saw a lot to like on this final.parting act.
both my parents got flame grilled, my mother had a deathly fear of worms and cremation wouldnt have been done that much back then (92), so rare that the undertaker got lost in sandymount on the way to the crematorium from wexford.
i knew that they dont turn on the flames but do a batch loaf later on inthe week when theres noone around.
Cremation for me. Dad is buried, mam got cremated. Her cremation was brilliant. A heap of us there, her brother and her cousin playing tunes. We sang a few of her songs. Weād no experience of it before and she started going in on the conveyor belt, the kids threw a few roses on, but then everyone started running to try to throw their roses on before she went through the curtains. There was an ensuing pile up of people, people firing roses over the crowd and when the curtains closed and the mill eased there was just one woman left with a single rose. Everyone pissed themselves. She would have loved it. Half her ashes going with dad and half we are spreading on an island in sligo next summer. Defo how I want to go.
Itās funny, earlier on today my missus was asking about this, neither of us is from Limerick city and she was wondering, I said, and I believe, that I donāt give a shit, do what you want with me.
But she was at a funeral of a friends mother the other day, another friend of hers father is buried right next door,
It seems that the older couples were great pals, one day years ago one of the couples was going to look at plots, didnāt their pals turn up and they said sure weāll go with ye for the spin, and they bought next door plots
But yeah, my ma was cremated and it was nice, my uncle sang a song.
That was a lovely post earlier @fenwaypark, it made me smile
I am going to be cremated. I had long asked to be buried in Ballygunner cemetery so that I could poison the treacherous fuckers. But now Iām going to be scattered at my beloved Peigs Rock in Funmore.
Thatās lovely Fenners. Do you mind me asking, have you told the girls at all about him?
We talk about him everyday. They know he is in heaven. We have pictures of him everywhere in the house. The oldest (5) said that she wanted James to visit for her Christmas present. Kids are great.
Thatās lovely.
All Iāve said to the missus is that if I go first I want to be planted in LK no matter how many years I end up here, a savage loves his native soil and all that.
Keep buttering up that nephew.
Imagine one day weāll all post on tfk āfor the last timeā
