Further Things That Are Wrong (Part 1)

Will you gway you blowhard, he mentioned a story in the book that sounded very interesting, i asked what the book was like, flatty likewise reacted. The self proclaimed academic had to get haughty and waffle on about pictures.

Explaining = losing.

Very interesting viewing, a direct hit to our own resident screaming Marys. No doubt someone will try and label Mr Williams an uncle Tom when his opinion doesn’t match that of their own.

Sorry for the delay mate, I’m in another time zone,
He’s an outstanding writer, you probably already know that, I’ve read three of the stories/essays so far, all superb, one on Michael Jordan since his final retirement from playing, a fascinating one about a professional basketball player called Tony Harris who went mad and ended up dead in Brazil, and the Ole Miss one which discusses the incredible racial tensions in the south when schools were integrating etc, plenty about the Confederate flag and other symbols of oppression, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough

Film / doc made of ghosts of Mississippi’ AFAIK,or maybe just the same title

Same time period, think that was a Mississippi Burning style drama,
This focuses on the tensions in Ole Miss when Bobby Kennedy forced them to accept a single black pupil in 62, all in the midst of the only perfect season their football team had, its well documented but incredible what coloured people put up with 100 years after the abolition of slavery,
The confederate flag and Dixie (the song) were powerful symbols

Yeah thinking back you’re right- obviously confederate flag ref Cork GAA had no racial side to it when first hoisted on leeside - just the fact that they were rebels from the south also ,amazes me when ppl keep bringing up the racial slant- wasn’t intended to be anything racial whatsoever

You racist fucking apologist pig

Ye’re great Rebels altogether.

" A rebellion against Henry VII was launched from Ireland and ultimately quashed, but in 1491, yet another pretender to the English throne – a man named Perkin Warbeck, claiming to be the Duke of York – arrived in Cork City. Though the Earl of Kildare stayed out of this second attempt to steal the crown, the majority of the people of Cork – including the Lord Mayor – stood behind Warbeck. It is because of this apparent support of Warbeck that Cork became known to the English monarchy as ‘the rebel county’."

What? (Attempt a post without a smiley for a change)

Ok so :grinning::grinning::grinning::grinning::grinning::grinning::grinning:

Now you’re calling yourself a bigoted asshole? Lovely.

Three things you want to watch on the telly at the same time. I’ve myself driving demented flicking through channels here

You really are a very odd, creepy individual (and an asshole).

Answer the question. Is someone born in Ireland and holding an Irish passport regarded as Irish? Check with your superiors there, they should be able to set you straight.
