There was 3 lads injured in this attack but we are only seeing headlines about one of the chapsā¦thatās odd

One of them is a u17 soccer player for Ireland the others arenāt. Standard enough really.

I think these lads were smoking something up the mountains. 
He was most seriously injured. Other lad and his dad on radio earlier. Other lad described injuries he sustained to his legs which sounded fairly horrific and a lot of treatment ahead

They didnāt go into that or how or why it happened presumably because police matter.
Said it happened in a āquiet estateā. Said his thigh, calf and heel all burned - ongoing treatment and when heals a bit they do skin grafts.
Very quiet mature estate in the middle of Ballygunner parish. Shocked that anything like this could happen there.

Heard a good bit about this on the radio while out driving today.
Apparently it was a mistaken identity attack but who knows. Seemingly the lad with the worst of the injuries (Ireland under 16 footballer) was walking on his own but saw some dodgy lads hanging around up ahead. He then waited for some other mates before walking up the road. A confrontation ensued and out comes a bottle and it is spraying into the soccer players face. It also goes on to the leg of another friend (an underage Waterford hurler).
My other half worked in the Burns Unit in Jamesās for a while. She was saying that acid burns are way worse than normal 3rd degree burns. For whatever reason the acid keeps āre-burning and re-burningā even after doctors try and wash it away. The hurlers father has said this is what happened his son too. Poor fucker. Youād hope they were pumped with morphine quick.
At least the perpetrator has been caught and also managed to splash himself in the face with the acid for good measure. They need to bring in a law for this quick if not already there. Minimum sentence with no questions asked. It is supposed to be easy enough to make these acid mixes by simply visiting a hardware store.
Also, the soccer player had contact lenses in. The only thing that saved his sight.
