Manipulating somebody into doubting their own memory/sanity.

So in this example the comedianâs girlfriend has an idea he is cheating. She accuses him and he says âdonât be crazyâ. That is now gaslighting.
If your nephew started moving your car or personal belongings to make you think that you were losing your mind that would be, I think, closer to what a gaslighting threshold should be.
Not to be confused with ghosting. Ghosting is breaking off a relationship (often an intimate relationship) by ceasing all communication and contact with the former partner without any apparent warning or justification, as well as ignoring the former partnerâs attempts to reach out or communicate.
