I’m struggling to make sense of the last paragraph

People are caught carving their names into walls in Colosseum several times each year with the numbers put down to the sheer volume of tourists passing through and the fact it is an old building not in its original state.

Good enough for the stupid fucker. He’s 32, not 13.
The Russian precedent looks tasty.

A year seems fair enough for that kind of stupidity.

The Colosseum should have been knocked down millennia ago

It was and rebuilt. It’s about as original as a Hollywood starlet’s face.

I was wondering about that line in the above article.
When was it rebuilt?

Mussolini rebuilt it.

has the colosseum been cancelled? Surely a monument to slave ownership and human rights abuses ?

@glasagusban is going to tear it down when he’s over there on holidays.

It was knocked by an earthquake in 14th century. They started rebuilding it in 19th century’s and Mussolini finished it off in 1930s. In fairness it says it on the tours that very little of what you see is “original”
