A few years ago that childâs uncle was on a stag in Cork. He was brought back to the hotel hammered, and decided he wanted to head back out for another, a young lad in his 20s, mad for crack, as we all were. He was fished out of the Lee the following morning, slipped in by all accounts. A fine fine footballer. A shocking tragedy.
And now this. That poor family. The poor childminder. Just awful.

I heard about this earlier, a terrible tragedy. RIP Hannah.
A freak freak accident. No one to blame. Life has a terrible way of reminding you how fragile it all is from time to time. May they find the strength to carry this.

Yes but Iâm not sure that there is necessarily much to be gained by committing this chap to detention. Youâd be almost guaranteeing that heâd be committed to a life of crime if you did that.

A childminder being involved is almost the worst thing about it.
How does she ever forgive herself? How does she go on at all? Unimaginable to feel responsible for the death of someone elseâs child.
