as if there could be a legitimate reason?
No obviously not, but was there a perceived grievance or something? Seems a mad thing for a fella to do on a whim
evil exists
Maybe a rumour but word is that the teenager who died in Dingle yesterday is the grandson of the lady who died while crossing the road in Charleville last year
Tragic news.
Incidentally, thats as Irish a statement as youāll ever read. Up there with asking a fella for directions and being told āI wouldnt start from hereā.
Awful stuff. I think everyone down this direction would have climbed up there at some stage as a young lad.
Iām not a mean, stingy bastard, bought the barman a free pint last night, great service sound lad, no problem. I just like to tip when I decide to, not when someone shoves a bloody machine in my face and basically forces it. Had brunch this morningācouple of eggs and a bit of sourdoughāand they automatically whacked on a 20% tip. The brekkie was dear enough already. Itās getting ridiculous.
Were you in a big group?
Iām going to tentatively venture a TNH. 20 pc tip pre added on in Ireland??
Nope was on the beer last night in Dublin and hanging for a hot breakfast this morning, so no additional group charge. She just poked the tipping machine in my face with a 20% tip added on. They had 2 machines, one for the brunch and an exclusive tipping machine as well, if u donāt mind.
You think a fella called @Godshonesttruth is lying? What is the internet coming to at all at allā¦
There was a Tipp lad sitting close to me who paid up before me. I heard the server say thanks for the tip and I said, who does things like this. Its a fecking joke, American shite creeping into Ireland
Mr Pink talked a lot of sense with regards to tipping
Not sure where to put this or if Iāve any right to feel sad.
I got one of those Facebook memories , a photo from our college graduation night 22 years ago. I started thinking about the night and was wondering where a certain lad was. He was a fella from Kerry that I got friendly with - he liked Liverpool and The Flaming Lips so was ok with me. A quiet enough but lovely lad, who livened up with a few jars in. He came up to stay with me for the graduation ball and his mother collected him the next evening at 6pm and he was still in his tux with a can in his hand in our sitting room. I only met him a handful of times afterwards. He moved to Galway for a bit and I went up to him once or twice for a night out. I think he went onto Maynooth then for a postgrad and I met him a few times. But itās nearly 20 years since I last saw him. We had some Facebook contact but then he left it. Between various phone changes etc. over the years, Iād lost his number.
Curiosity got better of me so said Iād Google him. First thing that came was a rip.ie notice. Poor fella passed away last summer . Was living in Dublin and had three kids. Couldnāt get it out of my mind last night, and again this morning.
