Honestly I think conlon was badly overlooked. He was brilliant all year. A warrior. He’s the worst one left out.

11 o clock on a Sunday night. Still obsessed with us.

That made me lol :joy:

In fairness, Downey has been much-maligned in the past but I think he was better than Conlon over the course of the season tbf to him. And the goal in the final just topped that off, an unbelievable score on the biggest stage.

Think he shored up Cork’s backline when he went in there.

Conlon shored up Clare all year. A leader of men.

A sensational final but I didn’t think he was good earlier in the year.

I never saw him let them down. Did they not win the league?

Can’t remember. I didn’t think he was good in Munster and I recall there was much concern about the centre of Clare’s defence during and after the Munster championship. Again, he was absolutely class in the final.

He hurled very well the first day out v Limerick for 50 odd minutes then the game turned. Was excellent against Cork especially in the 15/20 minutes after half time before it became 15 v 14 to pull Clare back into it, started a heap of attacks which led to scores.

Was meh against Waterford and very good at wing back v Tipp. He was fine defensively in the Munster final at wing back on Tom Morrissey won plenty of hard ball but fluffed three or four stick passes under not a lot of pressure but wasn’t alone in that.

Was something similar against Kilkenny, cut out a heap of ball at centre back but made a couple of unforced errors with it in the first half but domination the second half.

Was very good in the final.

There was a lot of auld rubbish about his legs going all through the year, think the likes of Stapleton and Eoin Brislane kept mentioning it but there were very few times where he was caught for legs.

I had thought he’d looked slowed down in the first half of the championship but he fairly put that talk to bed in the final.
