Davy’s doll got good air time tonight! She must be about 15 years younger than him!
I think it’s fair to say this is the most All Ireland Final centric team ever picked. It’s a sill selection process anyway so we shouldn’t really take it so seriously.
If everyone playe the same amount of games you could have a system like the Brownlow to pick the team. Players rated 1-3 or 1-5 after every game by the referee, the coaches and two captains. Tot them all up at end of year. The journo’s should have nothing to do with it

At least that cretin Des Cahill has been kept away from the awards ceremony.[/quote]
Bit of a farce. Podge Collins has been robbed here.

Tony knows the score. I was critical of Connolly for a long time, but this year he had some big game consistency. He has been robbed of an All Star. If Cavanagh was better than Aidan O Se then pick him.
Best former player writing on GAA.

But doesn’t he contradict what you said about cooper? “Kerry stopped cooper not O’Sullivan.”
Well do you agree with absolutely everything anyone says?
It’s a good point, but there was plenty ball give to Cooper as well and Sullivan beat him up.
Surely Michael Daire McAuley is technically the worst player ever to win FOTY.
Would like to see stats on his kick passing / shooting. Important player no doubt, but bad reflection on the game this year when a water carrier / link player gets the top award.

I respectfully disagree. I think he has tidied up his game a lot without losing his strengths. He is absolutely perfect for the dynamic of that Dublin team.
Mind you I’d say he’ll be crippled as an older adult.
Who’s this guy’s tailor? His suit jacket is too big and landing him with a waistcoat too. Ridiculous.
In fairness Bandage he scrubs up well for a Clare fella.

And to think that the Gooch has never been given the award.

Yes he has improved but he was nowhere near footballer of the year. Higgins, Cavanagh, Cooper and Cluxton were all better. Daithi Waters was better in midfield than he was over the season.
Fuck off
Nor Darragh, just a ridiculous quirk really and one not to be thought too long over, its all about medals in this business, the trinkets are a nice compensation or add on but medals are medals are medals. MDM seems a very decent sort and honest as the day is long but his FOTY will be remembered alongside Donaghys one in the fullness if time.

Why so?
Sure he’s only young, he’ll fill out.
I thought this lad cathal harnedy or whatever you call him was going to win hurler of the year :D:D
I don’t think anybody said he was going to win it you Clare mutant bastard
How on earth did nash get one after disgracing himself in the replay?
His run. I’d say he’s shearing one of his vertebrae every stride. He also looks like a lad who shifts serious weights. All necessary for him to be the player he is, but poor running (or walking or posture in general) technique is one of the main reasons for lower back pain. Hopefully I’m wrong. But I know all about it. I had a shit run for a long time, it took a few years to rectify, but the difference is significant. I did a fair bit of damage.
