I would have given it to Kelly but after him, Hegarty was next up.

If you wanted to give to the the most skilful hurler, Kelly was a shoo in but Hegarty had a decent year on the whole and isn’t the worst lad ever to win HOTY
Tom Morrissey should have been nominated for HOTY as well to be fair.
He was just below Gearoid for me in terms of performance. Very little in it. He was exceptional throughout the championship.

I’d have had WOD over Gillane and shoved Kelly in corner forward but other than that you couldn’t argue too much

Absolutely, outside of Kelly, Hegarty was the pick of them, but Kelly was on a different level to anyone else this year.
He was, there’s not a hurler out there that can do what Kelly can do

Thats true. Tom had an unbelievable championship as well though.
Thought he was the difference in getting over the line against Galway in the semi-final.
Can’t complain from a Limerick perspective to be fair at all.
Barron a disgraceful pick. Is he high up in the GPA by any chance?
He is a fine hurler but no way was he AIl Star material last season.
