That’ll change by about lunch time tomorrow
Are Nenagh a bit long @ 23/10 to beat Sars?
Yes. I’d have them 6/4 max. Traditionally they have a good record v Sars.
They are lower with PP/BF.
Was looking at a small double of them and Crusheen who are 5/2, SMB could be down a few.
Sounds decent.
I’ll give my full selections later. Am hoping one of the books prices premier intermediate in Tipperary like they priced senior A in cork but nothing as of yet.
Kildimo are evens to beat NCW, is that not a very generous price?
The sharks gobbled up the 8/5 yesterday.
Gobble Gobble
Worst pricing on the Limerick club series so far after 3 weeks
First week of the Tipperary SHC and PIHC so it’s one you’d assume would be a profitable one but it often seems to be a losing one as there is too many options, often being let down by narrow multiples.
There’s also games in Kilkenny, Clare, Limerick & Waterford. Galway also occurred but I wouldn’t be as knowledgeable there bar listening to Cyril & Brady on the M&W pod.
I’ve broken down my fancied teams into the following categories:
Short priced certs: Abbeyside, Thomastown, Thurles sars B, Passage, Ballygunnar, Gortnahoe/Glengoole.
Abbeyside are obviously the dodgy one there after a big beating by Clonae and narrow losses to DLS previously.
I’ve included all/most of these teams in a raft of accums by themselves and then included the following.
Total: 2.5pts
Value around evens: Kildimo, Boherlahen/Dualla
Total 1pt
Bigger than evens and in 50/50 games Nenagh, Newmarket, Crusheen
Total 0.5
Long shots who are overpriced: Kilcar, Glenmore, Clonoulty. Just done small bets here on these bets. Total 0.25
Kilcar play St Eunans who are down 4 county men. 7/1 is huge.
Glenmore are 13/2 at home to Ballyhale. I was impressed with them last week when they only lost by 2 to o loughlins, that was down a couple of bodies like Alan Murphy & Ger Aylward, if they are back it helps that. Obviously the shamrocks will win if they play their max but the price is too big.
It’s probably one of my biggest outputs thus far.
It will likely come down to Kildimo winning tonight, if they win I’ll be ahead and as Johny dineen says it’s easier play ahead.
Great analysis as ever @endakenny. Your thoughts on Hurler of the Year? I’ve €21 on Jake at 19/1 but Cash Out gone now, John Mac and Ronan all the Rage? Though latter 2 are 9/4 with Boyles, Jake 10/11. Make it make sense please. A lot of the journos were going down the Ronan/John route after the final, and they’ve a vote? GPA the main voting body?
All GPA members have a vote.
And many GAA correspondents?
I don’t know if the selection committee have a say anymore. It went to only members of the GPA a while back. The selection committee choose the short list.
I’m waiting on a big sum for Jake but I think John gets it.
The main voting body is the players who want a sob story/likeable nature of the John McGrath story.
My man Maurice Brosnan had a stats piece on why Jake deserved it (which he does) but I’d put €40 on John if I was you to cover the stake and get a profit. Ronan winning it would be a major surprise in my book. He was vital to winning the all Ireland but didn’t have any offensive plays he needs to be winning this.
Also, Ronan was middling in the round robin?
I like Brosnan too, speaks very well on OTB, I know that show has a lot of critics on here, but they source great, well informed and eloquent guests
There should be a nudge towards Jake from the top brass, the game needs new stars. Also, he’s the most deserving, he transformed himself.
Ya at 27 there’s a good 5 years left in him.
It’s amazing the transformation he made, if someone told me 5 years ago he’d be HOTY I wouldn’t be surprised but it would be in the lar mould as a pure finisher.
I think that’s what he wanted to do and what he’ll finish doing maybe after next season when the cavalry starts coming. He went where he was needed which is a huge credit to him.
I just think for games promotion, you give it to the guy who is going to be there for the next number of years/ and has the potential to cross into the mainstream like a Joe Canning or Cian Lynch.
Ozzy, Lynch, Canning all got them different times when there were arguably more deserving lads for this reason. It’s just this time, Jake definitely deserved it, he was the best player.
We can’t keep harking back to TJ, Callanan, Hoggie, Canning.
The likes of Gillane and Morris should be getting that push now when they deliver.
John McGrath deserves it. I saw someone outline his key scoring contribution in tipps big games this year. It was very hard to argue with it. Goals win games. Maybe someone else can post it up.
