I’m nowhere near as bullish on them as you are in general, like most in Clare I’ll always doubt them until they prove they can consistently perform and not constantly find ways to lose. And tbf to Eire Og they are a flaking team, have a lot of depth now. I have an issue with them having Liam Cronin as a coach, who is shite imo and I dont think they have a man for Aidan McCarthy. I think its all set up for Inaghmona to arrive with their best performance of the year and beat Eire Og whove been much more impressive thus far
Drom and inch ![]()
A forum holds it’s collective breath.
Ballinamere lost to Birr today but scraped into quarters. Tullamore nearly pulled off an upset against Coolderry but fell one point short. If they had won, Ballinamere were out
Small on Corofin @23/4 (Bet365) vs Scariff today. They are 5/1 on PP and 11/2 on Boyles.
Scariff will be sick they’re in a relegation match and wouldn’t have thought this could happen pre-season.
Haven’t had a ‘good’ game since their match vs Ballyea on 10th August. Since then, they were guaranteed to finish bottom in their group and their last group match vs Kilmaley ended up a farcical performance.
Corofin on the other hand probably built their season knowing they’d be involved in relegation, but this year maybe hoping to avoid the relegation final and be safe in the semi instead. They had a gutsy comeback vs Clooney/Quin in their last group game.
Would fear for the 1/10 Scariff (a disgraceful price) mentally building themselves for this and moreso being in the ‘just want to get it done’ mentality. Corofin will be dogged and give it a good go. They shocked OC Mills in Relegation match last year.
Scarriff 1-6
Corofin 0-3
Corofin trying to double up on Rodgers but not making a great job of it. Scarriff after missing an absolute sitter that might have killed it as a contest.
Only listening on Scariff Bay, but 1-10 to 0-05 with what sounds like a significant breeze doesn’t sound great
Corofin nearly be pleased? They came back well in 2nd half against Clooney/Quin with strong breeze
If they get a good start to the second half it might get interesting, but you’d imagine Scarriff won’t keep missing these goal chances
Miserable day in Cork value in a lot of outsiders
Charleville 13/8
Kanturk 16/5
Newcestown 6/4
Nice Trixie there. Kanturk are a huge price a day for dogs not fancy hurlers
Id have made Newcestown favs
Fr o neills at 4/5 against a v poor Erin’s own side also worth a bet
Kilcormac draw with Shinrone, meaning they don’t advance automatically to semis. They now meet Ballinamere in repeat of last year’s final.
Coolderry play Shinrone on other quarter with Belmont and Birr straight through to semis.
In football, Tullamore seem to have improved and should win it. Edenderry possibly the main threat. Ferbane and Rhode next best and will probably make semis, with a big gap to the others.
Nice profit on this despite Dangan letting me down.
Tipp championship is very open.
It’s amazing that nearly all the teams that were through or partially through didn’t win.
Loughmore the only team with 100% record. Brilliant championship, crowds flocking to the games, the amount of kids attending with hurley and sliothair in hand bodes well for the future, Loughmore the favs, Holycross might be a bit young yet, I think Nenagh will have a big say in it yet
What we saying today lads? Anything stand out ![]()
Call me an idiot but I think my beloved Drom-Inch are fierce overpriced for the Tipperary championship at 20/1.
Brackens are marked shorter at 16/1, a team that also has to contend with football and who Drom just beat convincingly last weekend. Drom, arguably, have an easier draw in the preliminary quarter final vs Clonoulty whereas Brackens would have to overcome Toomevara to progress. Rumours of malcontent in the Brackens camp too with Coach Keegan.
Another factor worth considering is that, other than Moycarkey beating Loughmore in a micky mouse Mid Championship match the Friday after the All Ireland, no other team has come as close to them as Drom, who have only lost by the minimum the last two times they have played.
So, good value to be gotten there I think at 20/1.
Loughmore are very much the team to beat and 3/1 is actually quite a good price on them too I think, but Drom are probably the team they’d least like to face again.
Drom have traditionally a decent record against them knocking them out of the championship in 2012, 2016 and 2022.
Munster Club Hurling Odds: (Boylesports)
Ballygunner 4/6
Na Piarsaigh 11/2
Doon 8/1
Eire Og Ennis 10/1
Sarsfields 10/1
Blackrock 12/1
Kilmaley 20/1
Loughmore 20/1
St. Finbarrs 20/1
Midleton 20/1
25/1 Bar
Eire Og have to win Clare first but would match up well with anyone in Munster.
I think if they win Clare they’ll celebrate it rightly. Don’t know why Ballyea aren’t priced up at all there when they at least have some pedigree at Munster level.
Ballyea are 25/1
Tipp v Clare in a Semi Final so there’s an opening there to make the final. 1/4 odds e/w.
The Munster Final in all but name probably takes place on November 2nd.
Loughmore the value?
Noel McGrath got injured in the Football at the weekend which is a bit of a disaster.
