GAA Managerial Merrygoround Thread

The last time Down nearly ousted their manager in mid-season they won the All-Ireland.

Hard it to see it not happening again this year.

Keith Ricken has stepped away from the Cork job on medical grounds.

John Cleary has stepped in to fill the void.

About fucking time

I like the wording of the statement …Coiste na Mí can announce ……
It’s like they had the statement ready for 10 weeks just waiting to let it out…
An outstandingly thick, stubborn, loud mouthed man who’d have served Meath better by pissing off years ago.

A fucking ham

Malachy O’ Rourke surely the ideal appointment for Meath ahead of Davy Burke. Murmurs that Colm O’ Rourke may be interested too after his success with Simonstown Gaels. If I was from Meath I’d be hoping for Malachy O’ Rourke all day long.

Malachy has bigger fish to fry with Glen.

Than Meath Football? Away and shite.

Glen would probably beat Meath.

You’ve just made my point for me.

It’s often better to go in at a low ebb. Monaghan were in Division 3 and almost 25 years without an Ulster title when he took over. Football in general could do with him over Meath.

I cant see him walking out on Glen for now until they win the AI Club.

He’ll probably wait for the Tyrone gig when Dooher and Logie step away in a year or so.

I’ve yet to ever hear a good word about Andy McEntee.

Appears to be a pig-ignorant gowl of an individual.

That was 20 years ago O’Rourke had success with them.

The Meatch captain had a lot of good to say about him during his time in charge.

They won two in a row back around 2017 with Colm as manager did they not? His son was on the team. Can’t imagine he’d be considered for the job at this stage anyway. Malachy O’ Rourke is the man.

Robbie Brennan a contender?

Robbie would tick a lot of boxes alright.

Getting rid of a Dublin superclub manager who won an All-Ireland and replacing him with a Dublin superclub manager who failed to win an All-Ireland is a real good idea.
