Galway - quadruple travails part 2

Brian Lohan has made some big changes to his Clare hurling backroom team ahead of the 2024 campaign.

Two-time All-Star defender Brendan Bugler, who was manager of Offaly giants Birr in 2021 and '22, and was involved with the Clare U20s for the last two years, is taking up the role of coach, while Clooney-Quin manager and chairman Tommy Corbett is also coming on board as a selector. Lukasz Kirszenstein, who was strength and conditioning coach to Tipperary and Galway when they won All-Ireland SHC titles in 2016 and '17 respectively, is the other new face in the set-up.

If Clare could bring in Donaghy to throw a few tennis balls up pre-match they’d be my favourites for Liam next year

That’s great news.

Awful weather for the quarter finals today and it won’t be pretty inside in that weather bowl.

Toms to prevail. The conditions might suit Cashel and close the gap a bit but Turlough should have to much.

Tight first half but Turlough have blown Cashel away in the second. 12 points up now.

Toms v Cappy exactly the same. Tight first half but Toms blow them away in the second.

Fair few one sided affairs.

The town not suffering much from rust so far. Caimin Killeen the best of the lot so far.

Great stuff from Jamie Ryan. Long range free into the wind, a great point from play and the created a goal out of nothing to halt the Bridge’s comeback.

Clarinbridge 2-16 Loughrea 1-21

The Town through to the semis. The Bridge go home but will have Aaron Niland available to them next year at least.

The bridge have some amount of windy hurlers. Hard to see Aaron Niland lifting them to a county title on his own.

Ruben Davitt is some man for the wides

Inter semi

TAD v M/E
Sylane v B’derreen

Senior semis

Sars v Toms
Turlough v L’rea

Tis the place for Sars & Turlough to catch the joint favourites

Junior A and Senior B final pencilled in as a double header on the 14th.

Disappointing quarter-finals. 3 one sided games and even though there was only 2 points between Loughrea and Clarinbridge. The Bridge never really looked like winning it. That said both semi-finals have the potential to be cracking games.

TAD v M/E looks like a de facto final in the inter.
