Maurice is playing fast and loose with the word class there
Hanbury has been living in Amsterdam I think for a few years now. Still only 31. Must have been only around 26 when he gave up the hurling.
That Galway defeat to Dublin in 2019 really was the āend of a processā.
Donoghue stepped away, Hanbury finished up and Johnny Glynn didnāt feature again for 5 years.
He was playing through a bad enough injury in 2018 and I think he lost his grĆ” for the sport in that period. He did his own thing fairplay.
It must be very unsettling for an intercounty GAA player to have the same gormless fool ābumping into youā practically every time youāre out & about.
Thatās gonna shine a very uncomfortable light on a few other readers here also
I am quite sure bandage is aware of that.
Flattys pal is about to move only over the road.
There is more to this than meets the eyeā¦ throw up a pic of Mrs Hanbury thereā¦
Jasmine?

Surely a good senior panel to be got out of all them teams?
American football and hurling, the two true sports of the Gael.
There was a very good article with Hanbury during the summer in the Irish times.
Iāve pointed out that 2018 all Ireland campaign from Galway was incredible. Two replays, a round robin and hung in against a great Limerick side until the end.
It left its mark on a lot of the players Iād say.
There was extra time the first day against Clare in there as well on a very warm and humid day. By the time the final came along they were flat as a pancake. Dredged up some energy from somewhere to make a game of it but left themselves too much to do.
Yep.
That side was good enough to win another, but couldnāt climb the psychological step which was Kilkenny.
The selection was wrong as well, playing clearly injured players.
It was, by a mile, the most enjoyable summer ive ever had watching Galway, or any other team. From the baking heat of the first Leinster final, to totally dominating KK for 25 minutes in the replay. The All Ireland semi final in Thurles was absolute box office. Joes free falling short was the end of that side.
