Galway and Annaghdown forward Damien Comer has received some good news from the results of a scan on the leg he injured in a collision with two Roscommon players last Sunday in Pearse Stadium. The injury happened in the early stages of a National League game in Pearse Stadium, which Galway ultimately lost by 0-9 to 0-8. The game was held up for almost 6 minutes as Comer was stretchered off, but it now appears there was no damage to the cruciate ligaments, but severe bone swelling will require a recovery period of 6 to 8 weeks, almost certainly ruling him out of the remainder of the league. With no surgery required, the Galway football management will be confident of having their All-Star forward back for their opening championship game on April 23rd against Mayo or Roscommon in a Connacht semi-final.

That’s a massive boost

Hopefully we’ll see the bhayst terrorizing the Sheepstealers/Mayo in April so.

Great news.

North and West Galway must be sanctioned immediately.

The double is back on :muscle:

Hmm. He might have toned that down a bit. He seems vexed enough though. Seems to feel there are delegates using both sides of the mouth.

The Leinster counties don’t want them in.

It’s difficult enough for Offaly, Wexford, Laois to reach a Leinster final without Galway also being in there.

He’s totally wrong on underage gradings.

They’ll ask for a bye into the final next.

Unlike the Limericks who got a buy into the finals

He’s not going to convert many with the pissy attitude.

UCG had only 1 non Galway player starting in the fitzgibbon. Played well by all accounts.

After the blackguarding they gave poor little Luke Swan in that minor semi-final they can bleedin’ well stay in Connacht.

Patrick Egan from Corofin in midfield a real prospect from the bits and pieces I’ve seen of him.

Kev Cooney scoring about 1-2 in the first half and then forgetting how to use his hand to catch the sliotar for the duration of the second half was the essence of Galway hurling summed up nicely.

Liam Collins is the real deal though.

Cian Hernon out of nowhere on the bench for Sunday. Was excellent for the U-20’s when they won the All-Ireland in 2020 but have heard very little of him since. Didn’t even hear about him playing Sigerson for anyone.
