Galway look better, bigger and fitter than they have done in years but the 5-week layoff after a facile Leinster championship may do for them.
Tipp have had regular games and, whilst theyāre showing some glaring weaknesses, have a proven record in Croke Park on the big day.

I donāt recall seeing the bookies as generous before. Galway are 1/3 shots as far as Iām concerned. 10/11 is very generous. If DaithĆ Burke does as well on Callinan as previous then itās a ten point victory imo. If Callinan plays well then itās 3-4 points win for Galway.
Young Touhy going off injured last year was massive, he would have been in full back line for the Tipp assault in final ten mins which did the damage.
Tipp have regressed as we all predicted they would last September before a ball was thrown in. They havenāt the mentality for back to back despite having the hurlers. The stories emanating earlier this summer were no surprise as the same latchiko behaviour was there in 2010. On the opposite end Galway have improved and have the hunger Tipp had last year.
I only hope itās a contest on Sunday but I canāt see it.

Thatās a fair point re the high ball. I expect Galway to score a lots on Sunday but I think Tipp will score more. Itās going to be epic.

Prediction: Tipp 4-36 Galway 6-20
A lot of people making the case for Tipp have nearly swayed me a bit. But Iām convinced Galway have improved this year and tipp have gone back. Based on the cent years that means Galway win. Also, hunger will count, Galway have it and tipp donāt. Finally, Clare nearly beat Tipp FFS.

The manner of the Tipp win against Clare was probably the best thing that could have happened for them - Theyāll have had to up it and know they have to come into this game with a war like attitude. They will start the faster of both - depends how long it takes Galway to shake off the 5 weeks ā But there will be nothing in this.
