Galway

Fabulous news. It keeps the Salthill lads hemmed in.

That’s millions more noxious and global warming fumes in the air. I thought you were against that sort of thing?

It keeps the plebs out.

more roads = more cagers

But stationary cagers means more pollutants is @flattythehurdler 's point.

I’ll get the gorse fire of working class defeat started so lads

I got that mate, however more roads = more cars though not fixing the problem of traffic in Galway & adding NXO, the billions that was due to be spent on this should be diverted to light rail to take cars off the road

I bow to your superior knowledge. I am not as well travelled as you.

Light rail :joy:

I hear those things are awfully loud

One of the stalwarts of that era was Christy Sheanan and the Breakaways. Not sure if he always wore a white suit but this particular night he was. Christy stopped mid song and bid a hasty retreat to the mens. Part of his suit was turning a shade of brown.

As he made his way from the stage a murmur began as the reality of what was happening began to dawn on a few of the clientele. One particular lady made some remark to him. ‘I gambled and I lost’ was his response. You either have that star quality or you don’t.

They used to rock the New Inn Leisure Centre.
More '89/'90 if memory serves me.

:see_no_evil::see_no_evil::see_no_evil:

The oul white suit was alright goin on stage but a different story coming off it. While working in a West Cork hotel in my youth I was on duty for a gala dinner where the late great JD was performing sporting a white tux. I met him before he went on stage and after. The white tux was a damp dull shade of ivory after his show.

Fab voice, world class performer and knew where his money came from.

Twas defo 94 or 95 I saw them with the mobile.

Possibly yea, but I wouldn’t have been arrested for paedophilia if I was in New Inn at them in '94 :grinning:

How quiet the nightlife in the county is now compared to those days
