Galway

Too late, my eyes can never unsee that

Christ fuck.

It’s some fucking weapon alright.

You should (and obviously are) very proud of it.

It can be more trouble than it’s worth, but overall yeah, very proud.

A blessing for all concerned

Why did salthill die such a death as a boozing and gallivanting hot-spot?

It got rough. Was dead for year but was hitting the big time again pre covid, albeit much more of a high society feel about it these days

When did it die around what year?

I’m not so sure I’d go as far as to say hitting the big time, but it was becoming more popular as the gaelscoil brigade adopted swimming in blackrock as the new cafe latte.

It was finished by the students transferring their allegiance into town. As the standard late night venue, I’d reckon by the late nineties it was done

The night Bogarts shut its doors

I think it was adjoined to the Oasis? Mind you i was always pissed when i was out there and it was 30 years ago, so the memory isn’t the best.

But they were good times. The Castle, O’Connor’s, Ruby Tuesday.
