Chris Andrews could top the poll in Dublin Bay South.
Amazing stuff.SF did brilliantly.FG fucked
Ailbhe Conneely takes the honour of being the first reporter to lose her train of thought and mumble and stumble live on air.
Live tally spreadsheet for Dub Bay South.
I think most of the boxes opened so far are inner city and ringsend so that should be taken into account.
Sinn FĂŠin owns Dublin 4.
The count centres have to close at 9:00pm tonight. Itâs a health and safety thing.
Mrs Bradley works in one of the count centres.
Some handy money btw. I sorted it out for her myself years ago. Canât bate the bit of pull.
Andrews, Murphy and OâCallaghan doing well in Dublin Bay South so far. That would leave some battle for last seat.
I think itâs too early to say that. Hits all the places youâd expect him to do well where theyâve tallied i.e. inner city, ringsend etc. I donât think the âleafierâ parts have been tallied yet.
This is some day to be alive. As I predicted weâll have a ff/sf coalition leading us on the 100 th anniversary of the rising. It doesnât get any better than this. The blueshirts utterly destroyed to make it even better
Well done to the grand canal rastoolers
Itâs very interesting looking at the fragmentation going on in the voting patterns in this election and the last one. In a way it is very similar to the Eastern European countries after the fall of communism. A broken political system. You would have lots of small parties, no overall majorities and in each election a new third force that would disintegrate before the next election and disappear, to be replaced by another.
Itâs kind of fitting that 100 years after the rising the core right wing parties are converging. But the left needs to converge into larger blocs. As someone posted earlier, the appetite for Independents will be reduced by the time of the next election. Many of them are local or singe issue candidates and add nothing to the national body politic.
SF predicted to get 27 seats
Gerry Adams will be tanaiste
Thinly veiled: âwe need to close to get a few pints in after a hard days counting, tallying, yahooing and generally acting the roasterâ.
FG on 24% in Dublin Rathdown. Shatter is in big trouble as that looks like no second FG seat there. His best hope is to get ahead of his running mate Madigan.
Mick Barry looks like taking a seat in Cork North Central from early tallies. Kathleen Lynch is gone. FGs Dara Muphy could lose out to the second FG candidate.
Gerry Adams and MicheĂĄl Martin will surely be revolving Toaisigh over the term.
Surprised at that.
The Champagne RA set have won the day.
TFKâs barstool blueshirts are absolutely seething.
Des Cahill says Jimmy Deenihan is in trouble. Healy Raes doing well around Tralee.
