General election 2016 results HUB

First counts are normally around 1pm from what I can remember.

They’ll be a lot later than that. Late afternoon or into the evening I’d say for most of them.

Tallies around midday i think.

RTE giving details of second preference trends of exit poll. FG and Lab poll slightly ahead of first pref %. FF slightly below. SF significantly below.

There will be a hell of a lot of recounts etc over the next few days. This could drag on well into next week.

How is Brian Hayes going to put a positive spin on this debacle?

I’m sure Frank Flannery will be having a silent chuckle to himself this morning.

As for Mara I’d say he’s is great form up there in political heaven.

Here’s the demographic split of the RTÉ Exit Poll.

Say what you like about Flannery but he wouldn’t have overseen such a horrendous campaign.

Hard to fathom how the government blew it - they got rid of the IMF, the economy has picked up substantially from where it was in 2011, had a huge majority and faced a weak enough opposition.

They fucked the ordinary people so they did. And now the good people of Ireland have given those bastards their answer. I knew when I lit my candle on Thursday night the good people of Ireland would not let me down

Will RTE do an all nighter with coverage of counts or do the Count centres shut up shop at a certain time. I need to be stocking up on green & munchies accordingly.

SF are up in transfers from previous elections.

The origin of those transfers is the key thing.

Everybody knows SF are not going to score well on transfers from FG and FF, and to a lesser extent Labour. No news there.

SF’s transfers will be mostly coming from AAA and Independent candidates, who will be below them in the order. You’re far better getting your transfers from lower order candidates rather than those in seat positions, because transfers from candidates in seat positions usually don’t come into play unless there’s a surplus, and surpluses are usually very small - unless there’s one massive vote getter who comes in way over the quota, like Lowry.

Say in Meath East, Regina Doherty is in huge trouble because SF’s Darren O’Rourke will be taking all his transfers from eliminated candidates.

Doherty’s transfers, bar from the eliminated Labour candidate, will mostly come from “above”, ie from the other Fine Gael candidate McEntee who will be elected but not exceed the quota, and from Thomas Byrne of FF whose transfers will be overwhelmingly non-transferable for the same reason.

FG2s are in the same predicament all over the country.

SF have only one candidate in contention in most constituencies. In those races, they should convert most into seats.

How did they blow it?They’re FG ffs of course they blew it the arrogant cunts

Any word yet on how Donegal is shaping up for SF? Will their gamble on 3 candidates stack up?

Won’t get three seats in Donegal.

Two should be safe, I’d imagine, although MacLochlainn could be down to getting in on seat 4 or even seat 5.

He’ll have the buffer of the third candidate Doherty’s transfers to bump him up if he’s in any trouble.

That’s some horse shit in fairness dodgy… That debt we owe hasn’t gone away…what do you mean by recovery? The ordinary people have had no recovery and social deprivation is getting worse. Your going on some bullshit figures about a growing economy that could and will all change in the morning. FG have fucked us worse than FF.

As my mother used to say about someone “they have no manner”

Based on early tallies the two Healy-Raes is a possibility.

They’ll both get in. It was 1/8 in the betting a couple of days ago.

They’ve some operation.

Probability I think.

Ferris looks in trouble.

Early tallies only have him at 7%.
