Joan Burton has finished off the Labour Party. She shouldn’t be sacked as leader, she should be fucked out of the whole party.

Howlin will be left to rebuild it. Him leaving Joan to run it will probably stand as his best ever political decision.

Malcolm Byrne has a fair bit of ground to make up. A lot will depend on how the transfers from the eliminated 3rd FF and FG candidates go. I think one of Wallace and Mythen should get in as opposed to neither.

100k is a rumour spouted by some Limerick muldoon. Most rural candidates, even with big party backing, spend no more than 20% of that.

Quote from a while back bandage, but surely the sf/ Adams was in the ira 24/7 newsfeed from the Indo in particular, has already backfired.
I’m reasonably moderate by and large, and had no love for the latter stages of the IRA, but I’d have voted SF because of this constant smearing. I’d have thought many fair minded people must have thought the same.
FWIW, I agree that the Adams/mcguinness and john Hume axis was one of the most important and positive in Irish history, and that Adams and mcguinness are indeed great statesmen.
I have grave problems with Adams handling of his brother, but it pales into insignificance compared to the magdalen laundries etc.
I did think that for SF to consolidate, they may need to change leadership. (But I was absolutely convinced of this prior to the election, and am being proved wrong).
How they would fare in govt would be interesting.
FG have certainly ridden the tax haven for multinationals horse well, but that is about it, and it’s only one horse. Do any parties have other credible policies for sustainable prosperity in the event of the multinational horse being flogged to death? That’s who I would be looking to.

The FG person has around 2500 first preferences and the FF one has around 1000. James Browne will also have some kind of surplus to distribute. I expect Mythen and Wallace to be poor on transfers.

The Healy-Raes being interviewed here now.

Sounds like Fianna Fail let Browne get too far ahead of Malcolm. What did Hugh Byrne’s daughter poll?

Reckon it will be Browne, Howlin, Wallace, Kehoe & D’arcy.

Danny Healy Rae looks like a massive simpleton even for the Healy Rae’s

I think you have the wrong way around @Mac , Fianna Fail one has 3200 and FG has 1180

Up the RA.

Browne doesn’t have a quota though. It’s Aoife Byrne (FF) who has 3k votes with Julie Hogan (FG) on 1k.

But the likes of John Dwyer (ex Sinn FĂ©in) and Deirdre Wadding (AAA) both have over 1k votes and their transfers would be more likely to go to Mythen and Wallace.

Ger Carthy (IND) also has over 3k votes.
