Any idea what time roughly that first count will be for Limerick County?

Hayes on newstalk trying to say things are not too bad for FG and he was happy with the campaign. :slightly_smiling:

I heard earlier 5 o clock but I assume it will be a lot sooner.

Iā€™d say Hayes is ready to make his escape back to Brussels before his party colleagues that lost their seats get their hands on him.

Fianna Fail in with a real shout of 3 seats in Carlow/Kilkenny. If they pull off that feat, Bobby Aylward surely has to get a place at the cabinet table. Kilkenny really is the kind of place thatā€™s ripe territory for Fianna Fail.

Fellas here were asking bookies for prices on Emmett Oā€™Brien to top the poll in Limerick, he has an awful task now just to scrape 3rd spot. :grinning:

Id say heā€™s done.

Margaret thatcher; Joan burton, @Juhniallio, brian Hayes, dick spring, john Brutonā€¦ Your coalition took one hell of a beating.

Looks like a very impressive showing for sf, proportionally the biggest movers. Kudos to the party strategists . If this doesnā€™t turn into seats Iā€™d suggest we break out the armalites again.

Offaly tally (3 seater):

Cowen (FF)- 30%
Corcoran-Kennedy (FG)- 16%
Hannigan (IND)- 12%
Nolan (SF)- 11%
Leahy (RI)- 11%
Foley (IA)- 8%
Fitzpatrick (FF) ā€“ 7%
Smollen (IDP)- 2%
Ryan-Feehan (IND)- 1%
Fettes (GP)- 1%
Bopp (IND)- 1%

3rd seat should be some fight. Looks like everybody in North Tipp voted for Hannigan who is the only candidate from down there. If I had to put money on it Iā€™d give Fitzpatrick a tentative nod for the third seat. He should get transfers from Cowen to crucially put him ahead of Foley. Whoever is eliminated first between Fitzpatrick and Foley should transfer nearly all to the other as theyā€™re both from Edenderry with strong FF base. Leahy in with a good should too.
Hannigan probably the kingmaker here. Iā€™ve no idea where his transfers would go.

thatd be a surprise

Saw a funny quip, chaps:

Bad day for: Renua.

Good day for: Rae-nua.

He has some money gone down the drain if he doesnā€™t get back in

100k down the swanny. Some waste.

A price on him to top the poll

There are fellas that have done their pieces backing him to get a seat, according to a few lads.

Has Miriam o Callaghan always been cross eyed or is this a new development?

Collins will have a smile on jis face a mile wide. The smarmy ccunt.

Howlin and Jimmy Browne as good as in for Wexford. 3 seats to divvy up between the other 5

Just goes to show, all the money in the world is no good to you if you donā€™t have a big party backing you. I dare say if he was FF heā€™d be getting elected today

Who was bankrolling the campaign?

Iā€™m going to head back into UL again tonight if things get tight and they are still counting around 11pm. Things should be wrapped up by then though i imagine. As an aside there was an amount of ā€œworkersā€ sitting around doing sweet fuck all in there. Was no counting being done while i was there around noon.
