Youâre using two completely different terms now. You have changed from anti-establishment to anti-government to suit your argument, I never heard anti-government from you until now - happy coincidence?
Youâre talking about swings from SF. What swings? The vote has pretty much remained static, a small swing from SF to Pringle.
If you look at the combined 2011 Donegal vote
FG - 25.3%
FF - 20%
Labour - 7.6%
SF 28.8%
Pringle 7.1%
Total establishment 2011 - 52.9%
Total republican 2011 - 35.9%
Total establishment -47.25%
Total republican - 36%
The republican vote is identical to the last time round, the only thing that has changed has been an intra-establishment swing between FF and FG/Labour.
Unless you want another election in April which will throw up the exact same scenario as today.
My best guess is they will do some kind of deal to get them through Octobers budget and then see after that. Long term they will probably merge as what this election has done is draw a firm line between right and left.
Well whats the alternative chief? All SF want to do is shout from the opposition benches and will try and manipulate the electorate into making them the largest party in five years.
Iâm reporting live from the RDS here. Dub bay south into squeaky bum territory. Murphy and Ryan are safe. Then nothing between Lab, FG and FF for the last seat. Currently distributing Andrews votes.
Update, Jim OâCallaghan is very confident heâll take it for FF
