General election 2016 results HUB

Looking at the New TDā€™s FG have seen elected, they look a bigger shower of cunts than the TDā€™s who have lost their seats.

Sweep sweep sweep.

FG have had a poor election result but still managed to rescue quite a few seats. Thereā€™s a good chance FG will remain in power. Thereā€™s lots of FG accepting all this and figuring out how to learn from it.

SF had every possible advantage and couldnā€™t top 15%. Sure labour last time with similar advantage got 19% and its down on the Euro %.

But sure if youā€™re happy with it Iā€™m happy.

All we heard from Labour as this campaign progressed was vote for Labour and weā€™ll deliver abortion. Put your trust in us we delivered gay marriage. Oā€™Riordain is one of the loudest cheerleaders of this pinko liberal agenda.

Before the last election he announced 200 jobs in Nenagh which never happened. Fair play to him if it does come to fruition but ā€œfool me onceā€ comes to mind

Youā€™re deflectingā€¦ 15% was always where we were atā€¦ When some of those Ind/AAA types disappear we will pick most of that supportā€¦ We have the establishment on the run.

Itā€™s funny how people forget the really big lies.

Real insight from Deputy Ring there as to where it all went wrong for Fine Gael. We should have went in November. Bad weather of the last few months killed us.

Petty you did, we did shit coming from all sides.

I think the clear message to be taken is the rise of the Independents which is worrying. Although they have some very able TDā€™s there is a selection of them elected i wouldnā€™t put in charge of a carwash. It really signals an upsurge in parish pump politics which this Country does not need.

It is a clear indication that our Dail is not fit for purpose anymore. We need a Dail where party politics is left to Co Councils & the running of our Nation is left to able people regardless of their political views.

I would ask posters to name an able Cabinet regardless of there Party preferences.

Oh yeah theyā€™re just going to disappear. :joy:

He is indeed a cheerleader of it. It still has nothing to do with why people hate labour. They feel cheated by labour. They donā€™t give a fuck about his liberal agenda.

Iā€™ve been arguing this for years, palā€¦the system needs to goā€¦itā€™s a 19th century Westminster system and has no place in the modern world.

They can, by appointing Senators (see James Dooge, though he was FG). The grassroots would go spare if it happened with outsiders.

Same as most western countries tbf.

All suckling at the tit of Her Majesty while homeless people die on Belfast streets in record numbers so a lot in common with each other.

What are you proposing? Our system is by all measures, the most democratic system available.

What other democratic system, from another country, are you proposing? An actual Westminister style system would marginalise independents and the left.

Whilst we have PR we will always have gombeens getting in

No they donā€™t give a fuck about his or Labourā€™s liberal agenda. Thatā€™s Labourā€™s problem. Theyā€™ve been preoccupied with this notion that spouting a liberal agenda was going to be a big vote winner.

Horseshit again. Labourā€™s problem is that they were part of the last government. Maybe some clowns like yourself dislike the liberal agenda but the vast majority of people who didnt vote labour did so because they think labour didnā€™t protect the poor and broke promises. To say or think anything else is unbelievably stupid.

Itā€™s been a very poor election for SF ira. No spin can deflect from that.

Winging it without real policies gets you the dead beat 10-15%. Guaranteed. No work needed there you just get it if you shout the loudest.
The ā€˜republicanā€™ ā€˜United Irelandā€™ yada yada stuf is dead in the water and to prove this they have surrendered to the brits and accepted jobs from them in the north.
In other words sf ira stand for nothing anymore.

And the ballot paper reflects that fact.

I hear Lucinda was booed in the RDS. Pathetic stuff, if you run for election you deserve some respect at the count.
