She is Meath, not dublin.

yep and ?

She is Meath East to be precise with the other FG waster McEntee.

Sinn Féin are running two candidates called ‘Doherty’ in the Donegal constituency.

Given that they are hoping to get both elected, along with one other candidate, in a very tight constituency this seems slightly short sighted.

Yatesy called his native Wexford this morning.

1 FG
1 Lab
1 Wallace
2 FF.

Any idea of what yatesy’s overall is so far?

No

Yeah right.

That’s definitely what he said

It is indeed mate. I don’t think Sid was doubting that though

@Fagan_ODowd - a Waterford special is on newstalk this Saturday morning at 10.00 with one of those dragons den lads

I don’t like the way the Newstalk website doesn’t actually give the candidates he selected. Just the parties.

Has Yatesy called the Gangland constituency yet?

There was a bit of a Wexford constituency to and fro on this thread last week. I’d be astounded if they got 2 seats. I think James Browne will take his retiring father’s seat but there won’t be enough of a Fianna Fáil vote to get Malcolm Byrne returned in Gorey. If Byrne does get in then it’ll surely mean Browne doesn’t.

What way would you call it?

Probably 2 FG (Government Chief Whip Paul Kehoe and Michael D’Arcy taking the seat of his departing colleague Liam Twomey), 1 LAB (Brendan Howlin), 1 FF (James Browne) and 1 IND (Mick Wallace). It used to be a very predictable 2 FF, 2 FG and 1 LAB constituency until the last election when FF obviously got routed nationally and Wallace came on the scene. I don’t think there’s a third left wing seat (including Howlin in this grouping for the laugh) so I reckon FG will retain, albeit Twomey is based out of Rosslare and D’Arcy is in Gorey at the opposite end of the county. That said, there’s currently no TD from the Gorey area so that shouldn’t hurt D’Arcy. It’s probably why Yates fancies FF’s Malcolm Byrne to take a second seat for them.
