Integrity?

Their ethos is middle class

It’s easy to vote green. It’s inoffensive - everyone is for the environment. I could barely think of another policy they have on health or housing for example. For this reason as @Juhniallio says they’ll pick up protest votes and transfers from across the political spectrum.

Incidentally - did anyone hear something about the green candidate in DunL-R? @artfoley?

Just got word from @RaymondCrotty . He is putting his trust fund on greens to get over 7.5% first preference votes 5/6 on PP.
word on the ground in Cambodia that the sense of foreboding around climate issues will attract voters who normally stay at home to get out and vote green

And Ireland has a huge middle class. Their ethos is about a sustainable society. Voting for them will alleviate people’s climate guilt without them having to change their ways. Sure it’s given @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy a new lease of life.

They’ll get a boost from Stormont getting back up and running. Also, Pearse could change perception of the party within main stream, perhaps only in the short term, if his work against the insurance gets media traction.

If the election is called now, it might just be at the right time for them.

I’m going to have a look at that bet now. It may not be the disaster election for SF that I thought after the Council elections.

What the actual fuck are you tagging me in this shite for?

The resentment and begrudgery in this post is contemptuous. @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy masterminded the defeat of odds on Labour favorite Duncan Smith. He linked up with a prominent portmarnock sporting icon to crush Labour in its middle class power base. Give him some credit for politically slaying the Labour Goliath even if you don’t care about the planet.
Some advice @Juhniallio - don’t hate the player - hate the game

you were talking about how you want the best for your kids but dont vote green and want to buy a SUV, probably still eat beef to you cunt

There’s nothing wrong with driving an SUV and aeting beef.

I remember you used to be banging on about the Ozone Layer…Christ those were dark days. Ozone this Ozone that. Jeez, in the middle of the Gallowgate @thedancingbaby eating his own shit and you in my ear yapping on about the Ozone Layer.

Whatever happened that Ozone, is it okay now? There’s not much about it in the news anymore.

we banned CFC gases

I’ve no idea here — but tell me this, how viable is it for a low income family, say with two kids, to eat environmentally and meet their family’s needs? Food is one big player affecting the planet - types of food, food production and food packaging … you never here these environmentalists banging on about inflation or the economy … to meet full dietry needs of children in particular is expensive, particularly if trying to go more veggie / organic route … there’s a clear link between poor mental health, food and also financial pressure.

These environmentalists would be best placed to have a proper set of policies in place other than go vegan and cycle to work.

In the same way that cigarette packaging now contains disgusting photos of lung disease, it’s time for the packaging of meat and meat products to come in disgusting packaging illustrating the grotesque slaughtering process and climate destruction

Also there should be signs beside meat counters with heart rending photographs or anthropmorphic illustrations of animals. ie. anybody who wants to buy lamb should be confronted with cute pictures of new born lambs and slogans to elicit guilt and shame in people

All preservatives added to meat should be regulated to ensure that they are visible within the meat to ensure a disgusting appearance

There’s a tremendous sense of satisfaction from fattening a bullock and then administering the kill shot to the head yourself in the factory. Those were the days.

You couldn’t even commit suicide successfully, figures

In the 1950s in America the average household spent 50 per cent of its income on food. Now it spends under 10 per cent.

How much on take aways?
