What expertise do most in the dail have ?? . Can you show me what any of them have achieved outside politics ??
At least she was involved in an industry . We have too many bland career politicians in this country .

Ah why are you continuing to “debate” the irrelevant parts of this?

There is illegal immigration.
It can happen with people on trucks.

None of that means that those immigrants are ISIS sympathisers and that infants need to be deprogrammed.

No, I’m ridiculing any perceived basis for her statements.

In recent years we get around 3-3500 asylum applicants a year. Verona tells us “a significant proportion” of these are Isis activists that need to be deprogrammed. What is a significant proportion do you reckon? Would you say 500? Do you think that’s realistic?

Her statement is entirely baseless. She is not an expert. It’s stupid and it’s scaremongering. She would like people to believe that if there’s a direct provision centre near them “a significant proportion” of the people in it are Isis activists that need to be deprogrammed. Can you not see that that is utter nonsense?

On this specific topic, she has no expertise. She has shown herself up not only to be uninformed, but to maintain beliefs that are not supported by any reasonable interpretation of facts.

Matt Shanahan a declared runner in Waterford.

Rocko if we don’t deprogramme these four year old Isis sympathisers who do you think is going to do it? The liberals? Get real.

8 February is a Saturday. Can’t recall a Saturday election any time in living memory.

Fantastic. I’ve a series of very, very important business meetings in London on February 7th which involve an early morning red eye flight (for a change) and a late return. I would have been under severe pressure to make the 9pm/10pm (delete as applicable) polling station closing time.

none. Doesn’t look like he can.

I wonder are they trying to capitalise on the “woke” vote and leverage their wins in the Gay marriage and abortion referendums?

what are the facts? You haven’t provided any.

They’re avoiding school closures too to keep the parents happy.

I’m still happy with the 7th as my exclusive, being the closest working day.

She never used the word significant, she said “Now that is a terrible way…it sounds callous, but I am under no illusion that Isis is a big part of the migrant population,”.

If I get the chance to ask her I’ll ask her what the briefings in M15 and Interpol said to make her form this opinion. I won’t engage in idle speculation, like you, as to what she might know, or not know, simply so I can castigate someone.

surprised @croppy_boy hasn’t got an infraction for his hate speech

No hurling league that weekend. Clever from Leo

I can’t believe I’m standing with Croppy on an issue, but you’ve nailed him there. People can’t open their mouths these days and the lefty headbangers go into a rage.

Now you’ll get to be part of the “brisk” after work vote instead of the "late rush "

it’s a strange day.

People are all too quick to be offended these days…

Stephen Fry has a great quote:
Stephen Fry

“It’s now very common to hear people say, ‘I’m rather offended by that.’ As if that gives them certain rights. It’s actually nothing more… than a whine. ‘I find that offensive.’ It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. ‘I am offended by that.’ Well, so fucking what.
