The hilarious thing is that she never said anyone should be denied access to our country, she called for better services to be made available to immigrants and asylum seekers.
And yet you have gobshites like these clowns and Una Mullally comparing her to Peter Casey and Gemma O’Doherty.
That’s the thing…99% of people are not against giving people a better life but we have a duty to protect our citizens also. But you can’t speak up about these things or you’re branded by the woke crowd.
The current asylum system is absolute joke. There’s all kinds of fuckers making their way here with lots of genuine cases also… And direct provision is inhumane, we can so better than that… But we need to ensure we are not taking in rapists and murderers, something we’ve failed to do to date cc @Batigol
You’re completely misrepresenting what she said in content and in meaning.
She said things like:
“The London bombings that occurred, the perpetrator lived in Ireland for 7 years. Do we have to wait to have a London Bridge incident on Wexford Bridge?”
That’s not talking about better services. That’s plain and simple scaremongering.
I know she said “support services” but she said it in a particular context. Which was a fairly outrageous context given the reference to deprogramming. And the national context at the time about communities not wanting direct provision centres nearby, hence the populist talk about where those locations should be.
You are quoting and supporting comments that she herself apologised for. So either the comments were wrong or they weren’t.
