But the Greens were never going to get a candidate in outside of Dublin, in reality? Cork South-Central was the only half-chance really. Polling at 13% in Dublin and being transfer-friendly probably will be enough to get the 10 or so seats they were expected to get.
The quicker the next election is called the better for Sinn Fein, they’ll run 60 candidates the next time and the lads that got the shivers in the lonliness of the ballot box will have no problem putting the mark against SF the next time around.

A fellow I know who’d be one of Paschal’s main fixers in the constituency has been telling me for the last week that Mary Fitzpatrick would not win a seat. I was skeptical but those exit poll results would seem to bear that out.
