They now need to be very very vocal. Labour has no identity with many voters and none at all with anyone under 20. It’s fucking shocking. What good is having the best, most realistic housing manifesto (see housing manifesto thread) If nobody knows or cares. Let’s get loud and angry!

They’ll have to upgrade the Micra.

Ok. THey will need a miracle

I think most of the suggestions above from their manifesto are fairly sensible tbh.

We just need to find say 15 leftie independents (give a little margin for error) and we are sorted

Well over half the voters don’t want them near power . There was near 37% didn’t bother turning out to vote for them either .

To a Zafira.

The 37% who didn’t bother their holes are likely SF voters

Coppinger is the most able of the lot of them and the lost her seat

It’s a terrific performance when you consider AK47 lost a fair chunk of his constituency. We’ve a local labour councillor back home who does absolutely Trojan work and she works closely with Kelly. She topped the polls last time out. Her father passed away suddenly last week and Kelly spent all of the night before the election at the funeral. He wasn’t there for votes because more than half the parish (and by far the most populated part of the parish) was fucked into Limerick City constituency for some godforsaken reason. The mountainy crowd up towards my parents were left in Tipp. It would have been much more comfortable for Kelly if those 4/5000 voters taken out were available to him as he would have dominated that cohort

If SF win the most seats they might actually find it harder to go into government. Can’t see FF going in as juniors

The best FF can hope for is going in as equals

Danny Healy-Rae there gone stone mad thanking his father looking down on him… Like something from an Oscars speech.

Yes, a great TD and a big loss, good that a Green was elected but you’d have to wonder what sort of freaks vote for Jack Chambers.

As expected FG transfered well to their own.

John O’Donnell the independent’s votes to be distributed now and that will decide it. He’s a loon so his votes could break anywhere

Yeah - and that sort of noise already coming out of Cowen (who has suddenly been found after a month on the missing list). FF may call Mary-Lou on her “coalition of the left” craic. The numbers aren’t there unless they assemble the support of near every party and independent apart from FF/FG.

These next few hours could decide the Taoiseach. If FF somehow ended up with equal to or less than SF, then it has to be Mary Lou.

Sf are in a win win whatever way you look at it. They can command a lot of the senior ministries if they do business with ff. My guess is they’ll enter into a month of negotiations, declare them a failure and run 60 candidates in another election. They could get up on 55 seats and will be in position to do business with the greens, labour and possibly sock dems.

Yeah. A huge loss. She is a charisma free zone which doesn’t help but it was always a marginal Socialist seat even in Joe Higgins hay day.

Sinn Fein should just stand back for a few days and watch FF tear itself asunder.
