General Election 2020 Hub

I get irked by these non-apology apologies.

I’m sorry if anybody was offended…is not a proper apology.

:rage:

I have a feeling they might have a big say in making of the government & they will be relatively cheap . The independent alliance has crumbled .

or, I was misinterpreted.

People just didn’t see the nuance when I suggested Leo isn’t proper Irish because his da was born in India.

Sorry not sorry

The reason people rail against social housing is because after killing yourself saving for a mortgage why would you want a peaceful life ruined by a fucking toe rag down the road terrorising everyone, including his own family. in a house given for nothing (thats the real crux by the way, why save when you can go on a list and get the same house for free?)

However implement the Finnish model, where anti social behaviour results in eviction and the general population might warm to it.

Do these fuckers actually believe the shite that comes out of their mouths? They have everything catered for in their manifestos apparently…im listening to it now with Yates and Cooper…it would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic

Green party candidates all seem like lovely people but their views are absolutely mental when put to any scrutiny

this isn’t as bad as some quarters make out…he’ll have learned a lesson tho.

Paying farmers to put up trees instead of beef farming

I think that’s a fair enough comment

We need to plant more trees

Ireland is behind the rest of Europe

Beef farming shoukd be banned

It’s funny though…
To paraphrase…‘his history is different to ours because his grandfather will have told him stories about fighting a rebellion against the English!’ Some similarities there

What sort of spiritual Ireland raised on songs and stories clap trap is he spouting.

Varadkar’s mother is Irish. Would she not have told young Leo stories of the ancient people Paddy hails from.

Are women allowed speak in Indian culture?

Eamon Ryan was quite good on Newstalk this morning when it came to farming. Always comes across as very assured, statesmanlike and knowledgeable.

However, I wouldn’t agree with him on boosting the rail system rather than the motorways and he missed a golden opportunity to reach out to people up here in Donegal by failing to acknowledge that the region isn’t serviced by either of these.

He didn’t answer the first question put to him. A very good one. Why are Ireland gonna insist on being the good boy wrt Climate action when our economy will suffer and we are a drop i the ocean compared to other nations and factors?
He waffled on about EU setting aside 1 trillion euros for climate action in a pure bullscuttter invective, imo.

Yeah could have been better. He could have said that if we move quickly we’ll reap whatever benefits there are to be gained from being early adapters.

There must be serious wedge to be made somewhere from addressing climate change.
