Yeah. It looks that way. There is a core FG vote in Ireland and the crash boosted it but it’s back to what it historically always was.
There’ll be some interesting internal fights in Dublin constituencies now as the FG front bench look to shore up their seats. Greens can get a real bounce with transfers from FG you would think.

They could rue not running a 2nd candidate in Limerick county. It doesnt make much sense to me when Collins is guaranteed a seat and a large surplus.
It actually beggars belief that Fine Gael lasted so long in government.
Labour in Ireland are sadly the biggest failure of a political party of all time. After a period which saw FF bankrupt the country through promotion of unchecked capitalism followed by an extended zombie FG government proving itself to be as out of touch with and uncaring for anyone outside of their own voters as we knew them to be, and making a hames of every single area of the economy and society within their control while displaying nothing but arrogance, that Labour haven’t been able to present themselves as a genuine alternative is mind boggling. The history of the last decade and more should have paved the ground for the people of Ireland to be looking for an alternative, the obvious alternative should be Labour. They can and will never ever have it better set up for them. They are fucking useless.

Collins is a terrible option if they had a second candidate he could lose his seat. County Limerick will be 2 fg 1 ff. Kills me as I vote for neither

Coveney goes to the country as new leader against a half wit new leader of FF to ask for a bigger return so they can get proper work done in government.
If SF go into government with FG then they should fuck right off forever as well. They have been trying to present themselves as a party of the left and with labour so weak they should be able to gain massively there. Like labour, they lose any credibility as a party of the left if they go into government with FG.
The promise of a white paper on reunification and working toward a border poll is what they are looking for.
You might be happy to stick your head in the sand because you’re doing OK, but Leo has been a complete disaster. He’s arrogant beyond belief and he actually has contempt for the working classes. The MMA fella’s comments were way off and a disgrace, but there is a lot to be said for having a family man/ woman in there who under stands the daily struggles of families… Leo is too busy going to Kylie concerts and gay, drug fuelled, parties in Dublin to care about any of that.
