Living in NCW, so ran in that area in the local elections. Think he got around 400 votes which I suppose was ok for a fella with no profile. He’ll surely pick up a few more votes in his home area too.

Decent reaction yesterday when we were out for a few hours. Got a fair few “I’m not voting for a party again so I’ll give him the vote this time around.”
I’d say FG are getting a tough enough response on the doorstep with the overcrowding in the Regional. A few people mentioned they were hoping O’Donovan or Neville would knock and they’d explain how their mother/father/any other relation had to spent x amount of days on a trolley.
The economy is going well, the government should be comfortably re-elected but plenty of people are browned off with things. Maria Bailey, the Black & Tans and Dara Murphy stuff has really pissed off folk.

That’s the sophisticated Mick electorate for you. Fine Gael have done a terrific job over the last 9 years in sorting out the economy and steadying the ship after regaining sovereignty from the IMF. Mick is throwing the toys out of the pram though and voting Fine Gael out of power over a few side issues and going to vote back in the Fianna Fail/Greens coalition who brought the country to that financial and economic ruin. What could possibly go wrong over the next five years.

What poll was released today suggesting FF would get around 60 seats. I only caught the tail end of it on Yatesy but it seemed way out of kilter
