This is incorrect. High rents, shortage of housing and long commutes squarely do make for less attractive places to work, live and invest in than if there were lower rents, more plentiful housing and average shorter commutes. They are negative factors for people, companies and potential investors, which may be outweighed by other factors, but does not mean they are not negative factors.
That seems a bland and uninformed assertion. What available evidence? Have you talked to the IDA about this?

IBEC’s role is to comment on the now and the future.
Obviously we have challenges as a country, i would think that’s a given, and they’ll comment on it. Just like they would on tax (ignored). The Chief Economist of IBEC posted this yesterday and I reposted it, no comments from the usual suspects

Well either you do or you don’t.
If you don’t the State will be required to wholly support you in old age and we will need jobs and tax payers for that.
If you have a pension, you will one way or the other be one of those evil shareholders.
