Itâs all a cod mate, any decisions of note that need to be made are done so by the EU.
Nope. A decent portion of the electorate are thick.
Many of them voted for FF in the 2000s when the going was good. Many then migrated to Labour in 2011 when they promised the moon and stars. Populism will often appeal to simpletons and SF are riding that crest now.
In that way itâs great for SF right now not to be in power and the astute ones like yourself know that. Once the election result came in, SF underperformed on seats vs vote share enough to make sure they didnât have to go into government. The previous plan to legitimise themselves via coalition is out the window. Itâs now about being in the Big Two. Another few years of facetime, a move to being a credible party of government (including getting better candidates to run and dumping the loons) and the more Provos who die will win more votes than just populist ones. Youâre going to be the Fianna FĂĄil of old in a few years and congrats for that.
They have a programme for government so as long as they adhere to that we should be ok . Only thing is the B word not really mentioned .
Patchwork coalitions are the way of the futures in Ireland so parties better get used to working in them .
SF IRA donât like to discuss it because the dirty secret is that they have never recognised the Irish state properly. Itâs how they keep their âprinciplesâ. Itâs the empty oath stuff of Fianna FĂĄil in the late 1920s. All Irish nationalists parties follow the same path of making concessions and pretending core principles werenât abandoned, when in reality they have. The slow learners Party are just the latest to go down that road.
Iâm not wedded to anyone kidâŚI can see through the bullshit⌠Every party has it.
Have fine Gael remained true to their national guard âprinciplesâ mate?
ill be taking some of that 66/1
Why donât you just post the photo of the Blueshirts and save us all the time.
Typical bookie gimmick. Next general election is 5 years away.
Cringe for @Copper_pipe parroting that heavyweight political expert, Paddy Power for his political analysis.
Helen McEntee is our new minister for Justice according to the paper of record
Fingal Joe got anything?
Talk that Stephen Donnelly is in!
Iâd imagine appointing a first term TD (Norma Foley) as Minister will ruffle the feathers of more established FF TDs
Anyone able to fill me in on reasons for Norma Foley appointment?
Purely geographic and a nod to gender balance or is she considered a rising star
*Just Googled her, belings to sold FF stock
Just as well that motorway is off the table.
Limerick with no cabinet representation is not good, poor calibre of TD aside.
