General Election 2020 Part 2

He’s a rural TD, absolutely zero chance he is against horse racing or coursing.

I’ll have to read through his manifesto to clarify this for certain. Having done so I will immediately revert.

How about wolves. I feel this issue is being hidden on purpose

Because the people have spoken and deserve to be listened to. This sneering arrogance from FG is exactly why they done so miserably in the election

25% of the people who voted, not ‘the people’ as a whole or anything near it. FG are entitled to their principles. Thats what their voters voted for

So just ignore the massive historic increase in vote for Sinn Fein then. Election 2020, as you were everybody, nothing to see here

There’s no political hatred like the hatred self styled “centrists” have for anything even vaguely left. Just look at the Blairites in Labour and the corporate Democrats in the US. They’d prefer Johnson and Trump to Sanders and Corbyn. If there was a genuine far right party with six or seven seats, say if the fascists of the National Party had that, FFG would do a deal with them far sooner than they would with Sinn Fein.

Mandate is measured on seats primarily and to a lesser extent number of votes. “Historic increase” doesn’t really matter much.

It does to voters

24% of them

and counting

I think since Sunday - almost every FG voice has indicated an acceptance to go into opposition culminating in Leo saying it y’day. How is that arrogant?

The arrogance and hypocracy inherint in FFG and their shrills is immeasurable

It does to SF voters, which is fair enough, but not to all voters.

Because it doesn’t fit sidneys narrative, so he is going to bang on about it ad nauseam and eventually left talking to himself on the thread

If there is another election this year SF will get a clear majority

You’re the one projecting your views onto the whole electorate. You’ve certainly managed to accumulate your fair share of arrogance in a couple of days

Yesterday you were saying SF had a mandate to govern. Now you’re saying they don’t. So who does?

I didn’t use the word arrogant. Why are FG so intent on not being in government? They have three seats less than the largest party in terms of seats. Every Fine Gael government before 2011 was formed with them having less seats than Fianna Fail, usually with far more than a three seat gap.
