General Election 2020 Part 2

Maybe, maybe not.

Do you want to have a wager on that or are you just spouting shit for the sake of it.

I don’t really have an issue with FFG not going into coalition with Sinn Fein here. They never said they would. However, Mary Lou, Pearce Eoin O B etc having a free run in opposition for a few years makes a Sinn Fein lead government next time almost a certainty. Tiocfaidh ar la

Hang on a second - do you want FG in gov or not. The anger here from SF supporters to FG seems to be both that they’ll stay in government and then that they won’t.

Wrong. You are wilfully trying to pretend that the election that just happened never happened. Its obvious which way the country is turning. You can dress it up a ‘principle’ all you like but not willing to even negotiate with Sinn Fein is anti democratic. The voters have made it clear they are not going to back such a postion of entiltlement and arrogance again. Get used to it

I’d agree with that. A FF/FG based coalition would be a god-send for SF

SF spent the last decade attacking FF and FG and that’s fair enough . For the last 6 months they were in real bother and came up with a fairly generous mannifesto which they hoped might help them keep what they had . FF & FG were largely joined at the hip for 4 years with the C&S and each ran utterly appalling campaigns .

SF now either one of them to dilute their manifesto for government .

The situation is utterly fucked up . Another election will happen in all probability .

FFG are kicking the can down the road. Kicking the can down the road makes a problem worse.

Fianna Fail especially are playing a game of poker and looking around for the fool. They don’t know who the fool is.

Baffling. So you want FG to be in gov with SF is it and that’s why you’re angry? I genuinely can’t keep up now

I guarantee it

Over 80 seats? Bold prediction

Grow a pair now and put the money down or away with ya, ya windbag.

They could well get most seats but they won’t be within an asses roar of a majority .

Fine Gael have no mandate. They’ve gone from 76 seats in 2011, to 50 seats in 2016 to 35 seats in 2020. The people want Change. That was the mantra all through the campaign and it’s up to IRA/SF and Fianna Fáil to come together to deliver the change they fought the election on.

I don’t see much anger from SF supporters. I didn’t vote for SF.

I’d be happy enough if FG went in with SF. Then again I’d be happy enough if they went in with FF because it would be the end of the FFG hegemony. Then again I’d be happy enough if FG didn’t go in with either SF or FF because it would probably mean another election in which FFG would lose more seats.

So, I’d be happy enough with pretty much any plausible situation, really.

This is TFK pal not the Galway tent. Cute as your bravado is though its clear you are still seething from the election result and I wager it will take you another few days to calm yourself

Might not change hugely in terms of the overall left/right balance though.
A lot of the seat gains will be from PBP and left leaning independents. I’d see Labour losing at least 2 Soc Dems at least 1. FG would probably go up a couple. Who knows what the fuck would happen with FF.

@tallback just said mandate is decided by seats, not vote share. Surely then it’s Fianna Fail who have the mandate for “change”?

Fianna Fail. Change.

So you don’t believe what you’re saying, talking shit in other words. That ridiculous statement you made is proof that you are way out of your depth here pal.
