I get it alright. Stop digging for fucks sake.
I honestly dont think Fagan gets this story. It wasnt twitter. Sure twitter didnt help in stopping it spreading, but Puke and others had it confirmed offline. Breakingnews.ie carried it.
Its the journalists who should be ashamed, Runt that fella you posted earlier didnt cover himself in glory last night I’m hearing, but has since removed.it all. He wasnt the only one. Others did try and urge caution.

Well it seems like he had already started so he may as well finish

Jeus but people love a bit of bad news. What kind of a cunt would leak that story?
Well before yerman above edited his post because he realized how ridiculous it looked he said I wad being harsh on mbb because this was all over the Radisson last night. So that’d give you some idea how it started. Drunken rumour repeated on twitter and treated as gospel by people who believe everything they read because it’s on twitter
A lot of GAA “journalists” doing a lot of deleting from their twitter accounts this morning
@colinlynchsgranny have confirmed that this story is officially a hoax.
Ah this is a positive turn of events. I read the rumours around 1am last night when I steadfastly refusing to go to bed.
Looks as though the AFR server is about to calf over there with the increased traffic on the back of this
Gary will have his hands full
I can’t wait to see how he phrases the warning about announcing the death of people who are not dead
FOGRA!
Thank fuck it’s not true anyway. That’s all that matters.
The thread has been deleted now. All we can do now is sit back and wait for the fogra and the threats of bannings
Ger Loughnane’s Family hit out at false media reports
28 July, 2011 - 09:54
The family of Clare hurling legend Ger Loughnane have hit out at false reports concerning the state of his health.
A number of websites and other media outlets have incorrectly reported that the 57 year old passed away last night.
The former Clare Hurling Manager who won two All Star Awards for the county before leading Clare to their first All Ireland Hurling title in 81 years in 1995 and then again 1997, is currently undergoing treatment for leukaemia.
i generally dont post on R.I.P. topics even when they are true but in fairness to those who did post the rumour was very very strong. mostly i doubted it was true but when i was going to bed last night i was convinced it was true due to the people who texted me about it. the doubt i had was based on one lad whose old man would be fairly close to loughnane over the years who had heard nothing at all. however as i said this rumour was being confirmed by people who you would expect to know. the lesson is simple. don
t post this type of stuff up at all.
regarding MBB while its enjoyable to be baiting the silly git its a bit unfair as the story had strong legs under it before he went near it
Why the big furore afterwards? Two great things: 1. Ger isn’t actually dead. 2. He/his family got the morbid curiosity sated I think we all feel about seeing how others would be affected by our death. Sort of like attending your own funeral.
Win/win, imo.
Had something similar at home in the past few months.
The mother heard one of the neighbours had died. I would know the deceased’s son.
So I rang the son and he told me that nope, they were still alive.
I rang my mother back and told her she had it all wrong.
The neighbour died a few days later.
Still though it went around the whole town that they had died initially.
Some tard even had it on their facebook.
The last thing people need in that situation is a fucking PR battle to get the truth out.
Is it true he’s in Milford hospice though? if that’s the case then he wont make it past the weekend.I hope it’s not the case because he’s an absolute legend in fairness!
How many miracles do you need to be beatified?
First he led Clare to All Ireland and now he’s after rising from the dead.
St. Ger Lough
Wonder will that utter simpleton Henry Martin offer an apology for comfirming the death last night on AFR and his facebook page
