My main issue is it was easy for Spock to say he wanted to change the way we play & he had a vision or philosophy, which is presumably meant to be front foot, free flowing, possession-based, chance creating football. Sure anyone can say they have a vision. He’s shown he’s absolutely no idea how to put that vision into practice. So praising him for having a vision in that context is daft imo. His attempts have been appalling - we lack a coherent structure with and without the ball and we’re getting worse the more time he gets to implement his “vision”. When I see journalists &/or folk online saying that he may not have gotten the results but at least he’s improved how we play…I shake my head in polite disagreement.

Our play off chances are pretty much gone. Turkey have qualified, Albania are 99.999% certain to qualify and Bosnia look to have little chance of overhauling both Slovakia and Luxembourg in their group.
Even if Bosnia did somehow nab an automatic spot, Romania, Montenegro and Greece are all in with a great shout of automatic qualification, any one of which would knock Ireland out.
i kind of agree with that random twitter bloke though, losing a game should never increase your probability of advancing in the competition

Agreed. I’d also point out that he looks basically unable to motivate lads to try hard. I know you should anyway for your country but there is a bust your holeness to basic defending that has utterly disappeared under Kenny. The second goal the last day was a perfect example.
He should hang for simply giving Doherty the captains armband. It’s like TenHag making Fernandes club captain
First goal as well. When Tsimikas beat him Ogbene stopped then remembered that he should at least look like he was trying and he broke into a gentle trot.

Ken Early calling O’ Neill’s football futureless is a bit condescending. Who wants to beat Germany, Italy, Bosnia, Wales, Austria etc. when you can obtain 52% possession in a 2-0 home defeat to Greece or play nice triangles for 10 minutes in a 1-0 defeat to Luxembourg. Kenny’s tenure is far more futureless. We’re currently passing time until Kenny is sacked. The idealistic media think football can only be played one way.

I’ll need to do my own research but heard it mentioned we could end this group as our worst campaign since qualifiers for 1972 Euros
The mainstream media have only cottoned on to the fact that we may be in the unusual position of needing to lose in The Netherlands to enhance our play-off chances. @Cheasty had flagged this as early as June I’d say. TFK is always ahead of the curve.

Ken Early is entitled to his opinion on the style of football he wants to see. He has a platform to express his opinion. What he thinks matters little to the FAI, Martin O’Neill or Stephen Kenny.
His opinion matters little to me either as i dont seek it or don’t read it or listen to it.
Ultimately, Martin O’Neills position was untenable, much like Kenny’s is now. Kenny might have been given soft service by some journos but he’s been ridiculed unfairly since day 1 by certain people, spock, etc. Some lads never wanted him. Maybe they were right too but it was worth a go. He hasnt worked out. Next man up. And you can be sure whoever is appointed will annoy some and make some happy and the wheel will keep spinning
