Gigs coming up

They have no insurance and are coming close to window of having to pay under contracts. It’s too risky to go ahead when they could be shut on a days notice so I suspect most gigs before September will be cancelled

There is another one due to take place in Vienna in mid-June, no news of a cancellation there yet.

Update, the Vienna concert scheduled for June has been moved to June 2022. So I am afraid Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer will have to wait for another year. I said to the missus earlier “she probably won’t like those bands anymore by then”. The reply was “she said she doesn’t like them now but not to tell you because she still wants to get the trip!”

This seems to be a new thing in live music, you get three older acts of a similar style to do a tour together. It’s pretty cool if you’re into the type of music they’re selling.

Oh lads, I cant fucking wait

I dare you to try not listen to it it to the end.

Some craic in Killarney for this… Will make the rally of the lakes look like a trip to Lourdes I’d say

Obie trice real name no gimmicks

Killarney for a Wolfe tones concert is an experience everyone should have

Interesting extract from an interview with Tim Booth of James in today’s Indo. This is the tour that brought the Smiths and James to the Savoy Bingo Hall in Waterford. I’d say this extract could be one for the tnh thread though. Cc @Fulvio_From_Aughnacloy

Do attendees of EP have any contact at all with locals? Does he think they are going to sneeze it out over the fence at them??

Pre Covid I’m sure the terrified locals welcomed the hipsters spending money with open arms.

If you think EP is for hipsters you are very out of touch.

Oh you’d be surprised. Plenty didnt want to see sight nor sound of them. Plenty didnt pick up a cent from it either for that matter.

I remember the second year of it (2005 perhaps?) I scored a few free tickets on the Friday evening. It was a two-day festival then. The tickets didn’t have camping but there was a car park near the entrance where we parked up and could set up so we were as close to the action as you needed to, and handy enough to get in and out. On the Sunday morning we popped into the village and there was a cafe or something in there firing out full Irishs goodo. We had a smashing spread and weren’t waiting long for it. I don’t think many people had bothered going into the village at all.

Most people dont really go into Stradbally, there’s no need to, and you’d generally only see people there before and after, or if there’s a big GAA game on the telly.
