Ship Street Little just by Dublin Castle
A few little side streets between this and Patrick St all have street parking as well I think.
Thanks for those parking tips, gents. We had a terrific morning.
Fleeced on way in for 2 Peppa ālighty up spinnersā at ā¬15 a pop. An epileptic would have had a seizure with all the kids waving them and the lights flashing. One of our spinners soon got stuck in my life partnerās hair. Quite a job to untangle it and a clump of her hair came out too. I had to pretend it wasnāt funny.
Then some kid a couple of rows behind puked and the stench was overpowering for the second half.
One of our lads was watching the show intently and the other was trying to climb onto him and poking him with the spinner. Next thing they were pucking the heads off each other and screaming the place down, like Liverpool fans in a queue to get into a match.
Quietened them somewhat with chocolate. Not that it mattered too much, as there was a backdrop of high pitched shouting and squealing throughout from wired children.
Fleeced on way out then with Peppa Balloons. Tied the string part around their respective wrists and off we toddled up Dame Street with their balloons flowing behind them. Life partner says she urgently needs coffee so we go into KC Peaches across from Georgeās Street on way back to car.
Waiting for the drinks when the older lad unties the string and the balloon floats up to the ceiling. He has an absolute fucking meltdown, roaring crying, almost in convulsions. Everyone staring at us. But waitā¦thereās one of those old school spinny around air con units in the ceiling. Canāt quite explain them. Circular with spiky bits like clock hands and they whizzing around and sending air around the place.
Anyway each time the balloon approaches it gets a gust off it and comes back down a bit before floating back up towards the ceiling again. So Iām tracking the balloon around the shop/cafe at ground level and trying to time my jumps to catch it on its way down. Meanwhile, my life partner is trying to calm the one having a tantrum and stopping the wild younger one from running out onto Dame Street. I heroically retrieved the balloon on my third jump/attempt and received a medium cheer from staff and assorted customers.
We were home by 12.15pm after barely being gone 3 hours but it felt like weād put in a full dayās work. As we were getting them out of the car, the older lad announcedā¦I donāt want my balloon. Can I leave it in the car?
I donāt know how we did it in fairness.
Sensational
Deserve 50 likes for the hardship you went through
How much of it did you get the blame for from your life partner?
That sounds fucking horrific. Thank god I only had imaginary children
I was sweating bullets alongside you
Lads any good websites for swapping tickets? Iāve tickets to the Killers on Wednesday night and looking to swap to Tuesday
Lots of lads looking for caps for JPs event.
Im actually going to this on the Tuesday.
Just realised Sam Fender is the warm up act
Ticket swap
Why am I not surprised.
The Killers are an incredible band.
Mr Brightside is one of the greatest songs of all time.
Twickets possibly
That sounds about right for you in fairness.
You just donāt get it.
Lads, heading to the Leinster Final Saturday and then on to ASOTY 2022 Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbottās gig in St Anneās Park afterwards. Once we are more than 4 points down I plan to try make the gig. Any secrets on how to achieve this and see some of the gig. Looks too long a walk on Google Maps. Getting a taxi would be extremely lucky one would think? Would a dart get me anywhere near the gig entrance?
You do realise itās Galway youāre playing? Could be eight down and win by ten.
First question would be do they have a support act?
Iād ring the venue and ask what time it finishes. Iād say theyāll play for two hours Iād reckon. 24 songs give or take.
You can extrapolate back then for what time they actually start
Tyson V Douglas is a great track live
I may be doing the same
Declan OāRourke is on first then Deacon Blue and then Paul.
Itās supposed to start at 6 but who knows
Itās a cunt of a gig to get to - I was there a couple of years ago and the walk from the entrance is fairly long
