Gigs coming up

How did they know if you had a phone or not? Or was it easy enough get around if you wanted to be an awkward cunt?

I think they relied on people being sound mainly.

It pissed rain just as we were going in so people were piling in to the folk sealing the phones so someone could easily have got through. I didnā€™t see anyone with phones out at the gig itself.

Brilliant show. The phone thing is a great idea but caused more problems for the amount of people in the wrong seats and rambling in late not knowing where they were going. I was sat pretty much at the back and it was extremely aggravating. I love Bob.

I was similarly positioned. Some amount of people needing help. It would annoy you.

100%, extremely aggravating. Also had a good rake of talkers around me too. Security tried to eject one even. Took a bit away from it for me unfortunately.

He stood up a few times to presumably stretch his legs from behind the piano thing. Heā€™s fair shook - but then again heā€™s 81!

Thankfully we had none of that around us other than a pissed fella wandering around to different seats and dancing.

Back right? Was it the fella in white?

Back right from the stage - yes. But not the very back, the second last tier towards the back.

Pretty sure he was wearing a brown blazer.

Different fella so. Youā€™d want to be fair thick to have stewards try to eject you from a Bob Dylan concert.

Had a great seat. Enjoyed it. Lots of people pissed off that he didnā€™t play the hits. Thatā€™s the way it is with Dylan now though. Heā€™ll play his recent stuff and a few hits like Most likely youā€™ll go your way and Iā€™ll go mine in an unrecognizable style.

That Old Black Magic was sung in the style of Reeves and Mortimer doing the identify the song sung in a pub style which amused me.

The band were great. Real roots feel to it.

I was disappointed with that version to be honest. Truth be told it was one of the few songs I actually knew going in.

I liked it. Nice roll to it. Great rhythm section on stage. When you saw the state of the pins on Dylan the couple of times he stood up you could understand why he sat down at the piano for the night.

Anyway as the lad said queuing up for the urinals, imagine being in the same room as Dylan. Thatā€™s the point of it now really. Or as I overheard Glen Hansard say to Shane McGowans wife, Iā€™ve toured with him.

Bob Dylan at the 3Arena: ā€˜Not gone yetā€™ ā€¦ At 81, heā€™s coming alive as a performer again

Ian Oā€™Riordan is a Dylan nerd if I recall correctly. The embroidered suit was gas. He looked like one of the elderly members of the Ladies Society heading off to a charity lunch.

The last time I saw him was also in the three and he was fantastic. He was in a white suit and hat I think, I canā€™t recall if it was embroidered.

My takeaway from last night is never to sit so far back or at the aisle again. Youā€™d think in an arena like the three the sound would be equally good all over but it isnā€™t, and the audience is just less engaged for being further back which led to more arseholes talking. Also, sitting at the aisle the lights to guide the steps are in your sight and everyone going in an out is in your eyeline, and with the carnage with people finding their seats pretty much all through last night that was very annoying.

The sound was definitely patchy in parts and I was close to the front and in the middle.

Thatā€™ll be a grand dad rock outing for the likes of @Thomas_Brady.
