Picked up a ticket for MJ Lenderman for Sunday night in Whelan’s. His two gigs well sold out but a few tickets came back up. €18 including booking fee is one of the cheapest tickets I’ve bought for an international act in a while.
Going to Amble tomorrow evening in the Olympia. We have only been out together twice since little lad was born so could be going to see Daniel O’Donnell and I’d be happy.
Brilliant gig. These lads are a talented trio. We do produce some talent on this island.
Amble and Kingfisher have the whole thing sewn up.
Thought they would be too “big” for that kind of gig? Saw them at the Olympia a few albums back. Cracking gig and loud ! Hermitage Green to support?
They’re playing Vicar Street in Dublin and the big top in Galway so I’d say the Dublin show is the smallest venue for them. Caught them a load of times ‘back in the day’ at various festivals, etc. but I reckon it’s nearly 20 years since I saw them last.
Any sign of The Cure tour next year being announced.
2015 was when I saw them. I am not too gone on the two new singles. They’re grand like, Mogwai, but not excited yet about the new album. The poor auld singer is raising money for his sick dog too at the moment.
Sold me tickets to Gurriers next week. They’re not bad but I’ve a haype of things coming up and they fell by the wayside. Fontaine’s the following week and Damo over the pudding will do.
What happened to rock stars raising hell.
Yerra, they were never rock stars in the classic sense. You’d pass them on the street without a second glance.
My Bloody Valentine 3 Arena. November 2025.
Went over to Manchester to see them in 2008. Doesn’t feel like 16 years ago already.
The Centrist Dads getting very excited this morning.
They probably complain then that the gig was too out there.
I recall Dave Fanning before saying they were terrible live and I think the only song he ever played twice in a row was Sometimes.
Apparently they are touring in 2025. So it may not be a one off gig.
Heading to Keator, Anthrax and Testament in the 3 arena later. Goodbye to what was left of my hearing
