Jimmy dunne who basically negotiated this deal was golfing when the world trade centre was attacked. 1/3 of the office he worked in was killed including his own secretary and his boss. It was just luck he wasn’t in his office that day.
He was friendly with basically all the golfers on both sides but when last year cut ties with the Liv lads. Various players used to stay at his house pre majors.
He was on the board at Augusta and president at his own private club who banned Liv players.
I wonder what sort of money brought about a fella like that to do a u turn. Tiger turned 500 million by all accounts.

Tiger turned down more than that according to Lawrence Donegan on Matt Cooper last night. Closer to $800 million. Some lad I’ve never heard of and who is now on the Kornferry tour turned down 20m

Around the time of the pro am Matt ginella who played at it suggested jp and Desmond wanted to do exactly the Saudi lads have done here and buy into it the pga tour but it was considered a non starter for various reasons.

Got to play Baltray yesterday. I’d say it’s one of the best courses on this island.

Trying to organise a trip there with a while… what was the green fee if you don’t mind me asking?
Think the published rate is 240 but we paid a fraction of that. One of the lads knows someone who works there who sorted us out. I wouldn’t be paying that price to play there now!
