Hopefully. Will the Azaleas be in bloom? If not it’s only half dressed.
Think Irish Open had been brought forward to May this year because of the Olympics.
Open them up ♀
I’d say McConkey is mad for a round hisself
@Raylan - Fota sent on pictures of the course… they’ve been working away on it… It looks like Augusta. Golf courses will be immaculate
One is required and the other isn’t. It’s no different to people justifying Cheltenham by pointing out the number of people that travelled on the tube the same week.
It’s a joke mate.
Fair enough it’s hard to tell who is serious around here!
I’m serious all the time. Serious like a fox.
You can play a round of golf and not be in ten feet of your partner mate. Be very hard complete a game of soggy biccy in cheltenham under the same set up
I am confident courses will be open in May.
I heard today castlemarty is gone and mitchelstown is in trouble regards opening again, fermoy touch and go too
As in to close its doors permanently? Were they in trouble before this?
Casltemartyr was definitely. The fella that owns it up to his tonsils in debt. I think they were fucked anyway.
Fermoy and Mitchelstown are surprising because they’ve a big membership, that’s just third party information. Casltemartyr I’d be fairly sure on. Heard it a lot since January
Mitchelstown have been in trouble with years due to the land they bought for the new holes just before the last boom. Think they had finally got it under control, but might be under some pressure now.
PGA Championship at Harding Park Aug 6-9, first major of the year.
Please fuck off COVID-19 and let it happen.
The holes across the road? I heard they were planning buying more land the last time I was there and they’ve a big membership
Ya, it cost them a fortune and then the crash hit and membership fell. I know they’ve had a big push for new members over the last few years but cash still tight enough, so doubt any plans to buy new land in the works.
A club to be financially sound need a good lotto drawing in ticket sales of €1,000 to €1,500 a week.
