Who are Daithi & Maura?
ah here
Incredible as it may seem they host an evening TV show that involves chats with assorted half-wits who are either flogging books, recovering from some inexpressible trauma, bodhrán makers, Mary O’Rourke (ex minister for the aged) rural undertakers and their customs….that sort of market….
Daithi is the quintessential Yerra, even to looking it. He sits there smugly, interjecting earthy bursts of laughter sporadically.
Maura is from some of the off-shore islands n the Western seaboard and is possibly married to former TD John Deasy from Waterford. She’s anxious to appear as the intellectual half of the partnership ( a monkey could achieve it) and could deservedly be entered into the “I’d say in her day” thread.
If you’ve never seen it then you’re quite lucky.
Mar focail scoir…Media recluse Christy Dignam slithers in sporadically (possibly fortnightly).
My kind friend sideloadrd/ downloaded 3000 plus books for me on my kindle
I’ve read it, it’s a fairly straightforward account of the events, nothing that anybody could have issue with.
It lacks the storytelling and cultural placement that I find interesting in some of Ferriters other books.
